When I look over the valley and mountains so high,
I take a deep breath and let out a sweet sigh.
I’m awed at the beauty and majesty,
And all You created for me to see.
*****
The trees gently blow in the wind,
And the flowers flourish from the sun that You send.
The birds sour high in the sky,
And from a distance a newborn will cry.
*****
New life begins each and every spring,
And I love to hear the new birds sing.
The animals play in the bright day,
Your love and mercy is here too stay.
*****
What have we done to deserve all You gave,
We certainly don’t know how to behave.
We take what You gave and tear it all up,
And all of Your ways we try and disrupt.
****
But still You give us a brand new day,
Even when we forget to pray.
Your love and mercy is still unmatched,
And from Your hand we can’t be snatched.
