Like Herod, the whole of Jerusalem,
the people of the Covenant, the Jews,
the chosen ones, the ones he came to save
did not know him, did not believe,
or feared that he may be the one
The disciples too, timid, awkward,
unbelieving, failing to understand,
to comprehend; stuck in the old beliefs
Would we be any better, any different,
if he were to walk among us
Would we recognize him,
as a humble servant,
as a mighty king,
Would we know him,
or would be jail him
