Lovingly, working the imperfections
the bubbles, the things that don’t belong
refining, moldings, changing
starting anew, the potter at the wheel
Reshaping, touching the clay
his hands guiding, the dance of creation
the vessel forming, turning
becoming itself, what was hidden within
Glazed, fired, given the quickening of life
the breath of the potter onto, into the clay
the shine of the finish, reflecting his face
each in the image of God
