awakening his slumber
the pain of his suffering
seeing the world, with eyes open to God
his sacrifice, his love shining
in the vision before him
able to see the world
as if for the first time
seeing sin from the
perspective of a father
grasping his mercy,
his love for us all
Choosing, as Christ did
the way of the cross
wanting no child
to bear such a terrible cost
