That which has long lain near the heart
Can never be a thing apart.
Though usage fade and time retard it,
Though life may bid us to discard it,
For ever will it be a vision
Impossible of real elision.
Hope for the moment of recapture
To know again the old swift rapture!
That which has long lain near the heart
Can never be a thing apart.
