There’s a sign-Verdemen-on the trainline
from Arnhem going to Utrecht- & Sons.
I can easily prove this to you:
to the left at the top of a pitched roof.
I know nothing of this man other than
that he is called Verdemen and has Sons,
and that he lives along side the tracks,
which anyone can go see for themselves.
I’d like to pay him a visit someday
perhaps in his house for the fun of it
and have a look at what he does in life.
Damn if I don’t meet Verdemen.
Out of the train, it’s only a step or two.
Of course, there must be some mistake.
