Prayers for all the saints
names unspoken for them
candles burning, on the altar,
lights burning within our hearts,
our spirits, their lives still here
within us, calling on their memory
even if their names remain unspoken
indebted to our forebears
starting long before Christ
back to the patriarchs, the saints
all those who faithfully followed God
throughout the ages
