under the overcast sky, blue/gray
the wet brown soil, not yet furrowed rows
the corn stubble of last year
a pair, working in the field
turning the soil
solitary, small, against the roadside
tilling by hand
a piece of the flood plain
preparing for a planting
still yet to come
