So right to honor, to pay tribute
to thank them, before Pentecost
before the joining of new members
so noble an example, a witness, they give
of the joy of service, of their presence,
their prayers, gifts shared with the church
this congregation, in this place
for oh so long, faithful servants
lifting hands and voices
being there in the good and the bad
hand in hand, for the glory of God
the ones who remain, remain steadfast
over the years of membership,
of fealty to the confirmation vows
honored today, in word, in the sanctuary
before their legacy,
each one of us
