I am the woman-drawer,
I am the cry;
I am the secret voice;
I am the sigh;
I am that which is heard
Low in the dusk;
Birds by a note reply,
The flowers in musk;
I am that dolorous plaint,
Uttered where calls
A lone bird wand’ring by
Dim waterfalls;
I am the woman-drawer,
Pass me not by;
I am the secret voice,
Hear ye my cry;
I am that power which night
Looses abroad;
I am the root of life;
I am the chord.
