The babe in that simple stable
God coming to earth
the man on the cross
submitting to God
the King in the heavens
seated on His throne
So much in the telling
of his story, his story of old
God’s majesty, His mercy unending
descending to the earth
to heal our brokenness
The wait in Advent
of the coming of the child
the Messiah, our Savior
the one who suffered and died
We wait for our King
the return of our Savior
no longer the man on the cross
the King in victory
Ever must we be mindful
that all of these are one
The Father, Son and Spirit
and the babe, the man, our King
