the strings of stars
white lights shining
resting on the branches, the needles
illuminating the crosses,
the lights on the symbols
reminding us, each one,
of our faith, our hope
the thread, history
binding us together
the enduring message
the story of our king
come to live among us
walking with us
for the father’s appointed time
living still with us
the triune God
illumined on our tree
lights the chancel
with amber white
