Busy, busy lives,
moving from task to task
lists and messages, and calls,
a barrage of things, things to capture
our attention, our energy, our moments
But the essential thing, the better way
often lost in the noise, the commotion,
the doing of the daily grind, pulled
in so many directions, little things
Spending time to stop, to lose ourselves,
to listen to the Master’s words, to hear
the still small voice, the lessons written
now that he is gone, raised up
to pause from the day to day
and focus on the essential thing
