Ten little Jackaroos at riding wished to shine,
One rode the Corkscrew colt, and then there were nine.
Nine little Jackaroos mending up a gate.
One knew how to use the adze – and then there were eight.
Eight little Jackaroos riding home at even
One took a short cut and then there were seven.
Seven little Jackaroos playing up their tricks
One kicked the bosses dog – then there were six.
Six little Jackaroos learnt to bullock drive
One stroked a bullocks leg and then there were five.
Five little Jackaroos baking in a store
One mistook the arsenic tine and then there were four.
Four little Jackaroos went to fell a tree
One waited till she cracked and then there were three.
Three little Jackaroos feeling rather blue
Started hitting beers to leg, and then there were two.
Two little Jackaroos learnt to fight like fun
One fought the shearers cook and there was one.
One little Jackaroo working all alone
He learnt some common sense and then there was none.
