A people separated
each one of us alone
believing in ourselves
more than in our togetherness
Forgetting the words of the psalms
the trust in God alone
he is our rock, our fortress
our source of strength and care
no other can compare
to him we should return
Our lives without rudder
wandering from place to place
trusting in our own strength
our own providing
rather than looking to him
for our daily bread
Stones around our hearts
believing in man alone
fear and struggle
when God can offer hope
His love big enough
our fear, our doubts to leave
at the foot of the cross
to our savior should we cleave
