Summer Sunday best
became splattered with His blood
in the intinction, the joining of
His body, His blood,
the dipping of the bread into the wine
the sharing of the meal
with the congregation
little droplets, stains of His blood
marking them as His own
remembering His sacrifice
in the seeing of the spots
the crimson stains
on their clothes
