That the light of the earth,
light from heaven
was snuffed out
suffered humiliating
all to human death
that he rose
miraculously, as it was written,
rose from the blackness of death
that he, he himself
will come again
in final glory
to judge those then living
and all the dead, from all the ages
a holy mystery
in our song, in our communal singing
singing that uplifts, sends chills
if we listen while we sing
