Faint shafts of light
falling down from the grey, milky sky
ribbons of a lighter grey, almost white
cutting through the pillowed clouds
layered batting, rolled and piled
feathers of light, pushing downward
gravity heavy, straight lines
overlaying the rounded shapes
through which they slice
Falling to earth,
I know not where
shafts of light,
cutting the air
