Like Joseph and Nicodemus
coming silently
only after
standing up to power
carrying for the now-dead Christ
too timid to follow him
in the light of day
Needing to proclaim our faith
to be his witnesses
to the ends of the earth
for a world
broken and hurt
filled up with sin
needing his loving grace
