Like their gold jewelry,
we are melted down,
refined, reformed, changed
in the fire, the crucible,
the wrath of God
for our iniquities
the judgment of our failings
oh what a fate,
if that were the end of the story
But, we have a mediator,
a high priest, a Savior
who argued our case,
substituted himself
for our condemnation
became man, and servant,
because lamb and sacrifice
for us, stepped into the flame
the cauldron, the pit
Vanquished the flames
the despair, Death
Rose so we can rise
Amen
