He was who he claimed to be
life giving bread
eternal, nourishing
renewing us, those willing, able
to accept his broken body
given to us willingly
eating of our Savior’s flesh
though we drove the nails
carried out what was written
If we do, solemnly, humbly
then He is within us,
living in us, his blood shared with our own
coursing in our veins, our lives
empowering us, if we will
eat of the true bread
the food of heaven
