Burned clean, the dross, the edges, the excess
burned away in the fire, clean, a reflection of him
purified by the trials, his steps beside my own
healed in the flames, the refiner’s fire
as silver, molten, changing,
as the clay on the potter’s wheel
shaped by your hands
made useful, worthy, the image of God
as we are made in his image
purified, burned clean
washed but not consumed by the fire
