What was their conversation, their thoughts
on the long caravan
the journey to Jerusalem
to the temple, the palace of the king
on to Bethlehem, the city of David
the home of the old line of kings
Hot, dusty road westward
to the land of Israel
heavy-laden animals
uncertainty at what the star
what the star would illumine
the prophesy unfold
Following a moving star
carrying gifts for a king
on the long journey
to Bethlehem
