Silent and tired, I lie down to rest,
Satisfied with the thought, I did my best.
*****
Knowing that now, rest will soon come,
My body that ached, begins to feel numb.
*****
I close my eyes, as sleep grows near,
My body is in shock, with this sudden fear.
*****
My mind runs rapid, as my heart beats fast,
The sirens in my ears, they begin to blast.
*****
Visions of torment, fill up my mind,
The things that I see, I wish I was blind.
*****
The screams in my ears, they grow so loud,
God please save me, Take me up to your cloud.
*****
I see them coming, coming for me,
My body shakes faster, “what’s wrong with me”.
*****
Confused and dazed, I didn’t see death,
It’s all over now, as I take a deep breath.
