Full many a heedless fellow-man
Had passed him on the way,
But Night, the Good Samaritan,
Beholding where he lay,
Upbore him to the Inn of Sleep,
And there I heard him say,
Whate’er the charges of his keep,
O Landlord, I’ll repay.
