Inside this obelisk
this homage, this singular space
dedicated to the first
in the heart of the city
forgotten stones
hidden from most of the world
from public view
entombed within the granite walls
like a pharaohs glyphs
lost to the ages
a record of the love shared
for this singular man
father of us all
States and societies
and common people
messages of hope
in this place, this belief
carved and hewn into the living
wall of the stairway inside
No longer seen.
