There is a place of total darkness,
Where wine and liquor flow;
Where people that are heartbroken,
Find they have to go.
*****
The lights outside,
They shine so bright;
Can even attract children,
And angels of the night.
*****
The walls are square,
And imitate gold;
Where one leaves sorrow,
And starts to feel bold.
*****
One feels assured,
And like they have a chance;
As a complete total stranger,
Asked them for a dance.
*****
So happy and joyous,
The atmosphere may seem;
But the devil is lurking,
And starts to redeem.
*****
Full of pride,
They boast of their gains,
Until the outside is gone,
And nothing remains.
*****
So cocky and sure,
That they can’t loose;
They can’t see the pain,
And the people they use.
*****
Once they’re awaken,
And see what they’ve lost;
They can’t seem to leave,
No matter the cost.
*****
Now Satan boasts,
Of his newly acquired band;
And the souls he has trapped,
In his lost promise land.
