(Editor of “The Freeman,” Indianapolis, Indiana.)
Know ye the man whom God has blessed,
With gifts peculiar to the rest
Of men who crowd the walks of life,
And battle in the world of strife?
E’er heard his thundering eloquence,
Or marvelled at the common sense
And flowing diction from his pen,
That soothes the very souls of men? —
This man who shines ‘mong sensless stocks,
Is the great and famous George L. Knox.
