Jeremiah was a shy man
Afraid to speak for God
Until God said, “I’ll tell you what to say.”
Jeremiah was a brave man
To speak before the temple gates,
“Stop doing wrong or God will take your land away!”
Jeremiah was a strong man
With wooden yoke upon his shoulders.
“Stop doing wrong or be slaves,” he said.
Jeremiah was a wise man
To write God’s message on a scroll
And send it to be read in the temple.
The king was angry.
He put Jeremiah in a deep muddy pit.
It took thirty men to pull him out.
God had more work for him to do.
