In the rocks, the ledge,
the outcropping of the glacier
below the cliffs, the lighthouse
small tidepools
bits of warming water
held between the tides
a world within them
if we pause and wonder
the lashes of the barnacles
miniature crabs
the mussels and snails
living still
in the living water
in the tidepools
