Not reaching out alone
to lift them up
that is important, first
acting out of love
But more to do
in the service of God
working with too
where they know there is need
in service with them as well
All of us messengers
of the word
and laborers in the field
needing each other for the fight
sharing the message of love
Not just with our words
opening our hearts
reaching out with them
to the world, to the ends of the earth
so that all would know Christ’s love

“Today I heard someone use the word “withreach” instead of outreach.
She meant that instead of just reaching out to serve our neighbors,
we should reach out with them to make the world a better place.
I really like that.” June 28, 2010
