I saw the man in the torrid sun
And I flet sleepy, while seeing him,
My bed, pillow and my woman
And the dense hight.
All abated around me one by one
A chill spread over my body
Yet a yell within my nerves
Dropped, benumbed, right at the edge of a chasm,
Ah! the valley of the hills, ah! the bottom of the sea!
My joy and sorrow, my love
My grinding repose hovers–all poised,
But again the clarion-call,
I don’t know where I am,
I opened my eyes to see
And I saw the man sizzling in the blazing sun.
