In the cacophony of human lives
the chatter, the rapid speaking
shouting over one another
How will we ever hear a whisper
the still small voice of the Lord,
God speaking within us,
The Spirit, the very breath of God
indwelling within our hurried hearts
Listening, for guidance, discernment
perceiving the presence of God
Walking with us, speaking in the breeze
in the flash of the fall colors
in the whispers, the murmurs
Listen servants, friends,
God is speaking.
