Lord, I ask, I pray
The words in the poems
the words I put onto the page
the lines of text, their precision
their beauty, their meanings
my hope, my prayer
If I am listening
that still small voice,
calling me to write
these aren’t my words
not at all at all
but God speaking
through me.
That is my prayer
at least, that I
can be an instrument
for His truth, His love,
His glory, here on earth.
