powerful words, claiming this man,
this person, rising from the waters
the carpenter’s son, son of Joseph, of Mary
My son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased!
Oh to have been there, to be a witness
to have seen the Messiah’s face in that moment
to have witnessed Jesus becoming the Christ
to have seen him hear these words of love
from the creator, from the rip of heaven
the Spirit bodily anointing him
as on Pentecost, as in Caesarea,
as the Spirit fell on them in Ephesus,
as it does now, still today, forever changing
the hearts of the believers,
the Spirit indwelling, within us
to give us the power of Pentecost
