Like the hidden message
lost in the scrolls
We aren’t told
what he looked like
Esau had his hairy arms
Samson had his strength
John ate locusts and worn skins
But He isn’t described
We are able to picture Him
as we choose
as we need to
to hear his message
cope with the incomprehensible
relate to the humanity
of the Holy.
