Somehow, the words of the Magi
asking where to find
the child, the king of the Jews
Herod knew, aware of the threat
the child they sought
the Messiah, the true king
to reclaim David’s throne
the one he sat upon
Terrified, the hired hands with him
the house of cards
will soon fall from its foundation
the lie revealed, the emperor has no clothes
