Like nothing other than gumdrops
the rounded tops of the colorful maples
adorned the side of the street
on our drive to church this morning
radiant in the morning sun
below the royal blue of the sky
the reds and yellows, the orange
colors of the trees, like candy
covered in sprinkles, festooned
with bright patches,
bright and eye catching
a quilted confection
