Smell of oil, of chlorine
Burn the nose of this six year old
My grandfather in his domain
At the Y, where the guests never see
A handyman, mechanic, custodian
The king of the keys
The power behind the throne
Grease that keeps the gears
in motion.
11/4/05 21:55 – about my maternal grandfather, Laurence F. Ring, when he worked at the Westfield, MA YMCA. When he retired, he was replaced with three.
