Through the white rims
of the slate grey clouds
this winter morning
I peered upward
and saw God’s eye
Bright round sunlight
Pearled by my mind’s eye
A pupil clear as a picture
Caressed in the cumulous flesh
Smiling on my journey
down the highway
to do His will.
