Like Israel, we are in it,
for the long haul;
the coming of the Messiah
the second coming,
like their return from exile,
unknown to us, mere mortals
We must act as we were taught
live within the land we find ourselves
remaining in the world,
not of the world and,
like the maidens with the oil,
be ready for the bridegroom
whenever He comes again
