Thoughts of walking
in a winter wonderland
with her. She wrote,
“I like snow when it is falling.
All clean and beautiful.”
A friend remarks,
“the snow is here,
everything is white and
appears to be more pure,
almost innocent…”
It is a beautiful kind of first snow.
Everything is more innocent;
but only for a whisper
of time.
Too soon it will clump and fall
Splashed up off the street,
Mixed with grime
But now, in the falling,
milking the sky
teasing as it falls
light, airy
Covering other sins
blanketing a seemingly silent
noisy world
muffled and cloaked
in white
