The line of David
the firstborn of God
established forever
to rule over the people
even if they stumble
reject God, forsake the promise
God faithful
in him may we trust
Christ is his son
the root of Jesse
an unbroken line
from the anointed one
He came to heal
the brokenness
to return to the covenant
our king forever
sealing the breach
the defiance, estrangement
from the beginning of time
