Broken lines,
walls in need of mending
What would Frost say,
or his good neighbor,
behind mended walls?
New England stone walls,
handmade and irregular
severed by highways,
black/gray ribbons/scars on the land
Leaving unfinished, abandoned, cluttered
forgotten boundaries in the woods,
moss covered and leaf obscured
with blunt ends
exposed at the edge, the clearing, the light
by the road
more often taken
