San Teodulo, give them vinegar when they thirst.
Holy Peter, when they hunger, look the other
way.
St. Frigid, if they bleed, have some salt on hand.
John the Baptist, drown them.
Blessed Caldron of St. Ursula, bubble in their
ears.
St. Joseph the Good—one day they’ll eat your
sandals.
Dogs of St. Blas, feast on their throats.
Bats of the Apparition, shriek forever in their
dreams.
Emmanuel, Son of God, spit in the eyes that
have never seen.
And you, Holy Horse of Bethlehem, rage of the
poor,
kick their heads into the solid wall of money that froze their hearts.
