Like silken cocoons
waiting for the metamorphosis
the cars under the snow
in cocoons of white
Wondering what they would be
if they could change
within the blanket of snow
in the silent driveway
Would they change
into another form
would the Ford Taurus
become a Range Rover
The layers peeling
hard-packed from the snow blower
using the shovel gingerly
not the pierce the covering
In the sun once more
out in the open air
warming in the driveway
as if a new creation
