Tom Joad had it right
His introduction to us all,
more in print than film,
of a man fixing his brim
Brim you say,
not the cup but the lid,
The hat, chapeau,
you remember the Dr. of Seuss;
but listen to John
He knew
Break the spine, the arch
Crack the store-bought form, symmetry
of my ballcap.
Three folds and you’re set
cut and cup, make your own
Ready for sweat
