Coming to the Jesus
in the house of another
seeking healing
an uninvited guest
coming to him
Christ responding,
but first questioning,
the structure of their faith
in the cold words alone
Christ healing,
even on the sabbath
bringing wholeness for the stranger
in the place where he was
Giving a lesson
changing their whole world
the rules that they lived by
not nearly enough
God’s love greater
calling us to welcome all those in need
offering ourselves freely
giving help to the stranger,
all who are in need, wherever we find them
