Before the chancel, the pulpit,
in the front of the nave,
preaching a message of love
of the freedom to love
the choice we enjoy
as children of God
as citizens of this land
a different way of living
calling to us
not worldly goals; but freedoms
of the Spirit, of the claim
the will of God for our lives
She offered her witness,
the reading of his letter
on the choices we safe
in the freedom of Christ
as a people, as individuals
to follow the world
or to follow the Spirit
the choice is ours
mutually exclusive,
one way or the other.
