HERE they lie, of graduate ages,
All the Birthdays of the Past:
Here, upon life’s closing pages
Let their gentle doom be cast.
Many a feast and merry-making
Owed to them its genial hours:
Many a gift and many a greeting
Sleeps with them beneath the flowers.
Ghosts of evil, come not near them!
Memory’s record kindly runs:
All had Hope and Love to cheer them:
Most of them were happy ones.
